Stephen Patterson


Stephen Patterson hails from North Carolina but has called the midlands home for nearly fifty years. Steve holds a B.A. from Elon University and an M.Ed. from the University of South Carolina. He recently retired from the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department, where he served as director of offender services. Currently, he serves as an adjunct professor in the Criminal Justice Department at Columbia College. He is an active board member of the South Carolina Coalition of Re-entry Specialist.
Steve draws on a wealth of experience from being a noted speaker and trainer and his work in human services. Steve’s love of humor has made him a popular speaker throughout the southeast, where he shares the benefits of laughter and a good sense of humor. It was this love of humor that led him to write his first book Better Living Through Laughter which gives the reader a new perspective on the value of laughter. His ability to weave a story is on full display in his novels. Let’s Go If You’re Going and The Kings Last Ride. Steve is the father of four and the grandfather of two and lives in Chapin with his wife, Annette.
